Message I'd like to see some more modern forging designs applied to the VG, like:

JE Asymmetrical skirt pistons; I like this concept. They claim to have made 2JZ versions, so they have a forging that will work with our 87+mm bore size and it wouldn't be too hard to get a VGspec out of them.

Or, I really like the Mahle "box in box" underside reinforcement design and the accompanying reduced pin length. No VG-shelf pistons here, but I'm sure they're capable of making them.

On a similar design, Diamond Pistons, with what they call "center balancing" where the piston has the same amount of mass on each side of the pin centerline and theoretically should reduce piston rocking in the bore. This kinda smacks the JE asymmetrical design in the face though (the JE does not look like it could be "center balanced")... not sure which is better.

Diamond Pistons is big in NHRA Pro Stock engines which regularly see RPMs in the 11000 range. Perhaps this is where center balancing shines most?

Again, no VG-shelf pistons here either; with a heavy domestic-only catalog, they might not even speak in an "import" language.
